How You Can HelpScholarships: Sponsor a Child's Education- Give a Child a Better FutureThough many schools are technically “free”, marginalized children, including children living in poverty, children in isolated rural communities, disabled children and orphans do not even have the means for the basics needed for school including mandatory uniforms, exercise books, pencils, shoes, socks, and minor medical attention. Child sponsorship also helps to cover the running costs of the school in these communities such as salaries, stationary, electricity, water, textbooks and a hot meal lunch to feed empty bellies and developing brains. The cost of supporting a child for a year is around $550 US dollars. Donors can choose a one time payment or twelve monthly payments. One time payment options: Monthly payment options: Kensington Cares will send all donors a profile of their sponsored child/children and will provide regular online updates throughout the year. Scholarship funding will be allocated on a priority basis by Kensington Cares unless a donor has a particular preference of a child and/or school that he/she would like to support. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Scholarship funding is invested in two ways (1) to ensure that the sponsored child is able to attend school, that fees and other school-related costs (e.g. uniforms, school supplies) are covered and (2) to provide support to the school to support priority items that benefit the school including text books, teaching resources, a nutritious meal, a new classroom, or part of a teacher’s salary. Kensington Tours clients wishing to pack gifts for children are encouraged to do so, however we ask that you coordinate with our office for recommendations on appropriate items and quantities.
